Supporting women and non-binary leaders
in social skateboarding

About R0LL Models

The ROLL Models program is designed to support and create visibility for women and non-binary leaders within skateboarding and to fund the projects they’ve designed — so that the next generation of girls and gender-diverse youth can build confidence, community, and life skills on and off their skateboards.

We believe that

representation builds stronger communities

Since its launch in 2020, the ROLL Models program has supported 73 women and non-binary leaders in Europe with leadership training and over €175,000 in seed grants.

ROLL Models is a unique opportunity for women and non-binary people with a passion for skateboarding to connect with and support each other, gain in-depth training and support, and to work towards a more diverse and inclusive skateboarding community.

Each funded ROLL Models project uses skateboarding to improve physical and mental well-being, inclusivity, and promote gender equity, with a focus on girls and non-binary youth as the main participants.
The program has been an amazing opportunity for me to grow and develop confidence whilst sharing my vision of how skateboarding can improve lives. The support has been fantastic and I now feel really connected to others who share my ideals. I feel I can turn to the Roll Models for support and that we can share experiences and resources with each other, ask questions and celebrate together. The Leadership camp in Berlin was a life changing experience.

What's Next for ROLL Models?

In the years to come, we are very interested in going global with ROLL Models.

With social skateboarding growing around the world through more than 1000 projects in 115+ countries, we believe there is huge potential to expand the ROLL Models community beyond Europe.

Two regions where we see huge potential to support women-led skateboarding projects are Africa and South America. The regional focus of this model is particularly impactful because it helps ROLL Models to connect based on similar contexts and challenges.
