What’s it all about?
This July and August we are launching our first series of webinars specifically designed to improve best practices for delivering skateboarding and youth programs globally. Those who join the e-learning cohort will have the opportunity to work through a selection of our e-courses together, share experiences with peers, and ask questions relating to the context they work in.
Our first set of webinars will be on the topics of trauma-informed skateboarding programs and suicide prevention. These webinars are for anyone involved in the social skateboarding community and are free to attend!
How will it work?
We will host two webinars between July 20th and August 3rd, with guest speakers who have expertise on mental health and skateboarding. In-between the webinars, all the attendees will complete three 1-1.5 hour e-courses:
Webinar 1 – Trauma-informed skate programs with Push to Heal
This session will provide an overview of trauma-informed practices in social skateboarding programs, with guest speakers Joel Pippus and Maria Malouf from Hull Services (Calgary) introducing their pioneering work exploring how skateboarding can help the brain to heal from trauma.
Webinar 2 – Mental health and suicide prevention with Ben Raemers Foundation
This session will allow attendees to ask questions and share their feedback on the e-courses they completed, as well as a presentation from Susie Crome from the Ben Raemers Foundation who will share their work on mental health awareness and suicide prevention within the skateboarding community.

Webinar 1: Wednesday 20 July at 9-10am PST / 12-1pm EST / 6-7pm CEST
Webinar 2: Wednesday 3 August at 9-10am PST / 12-1pm EST / 6-7pm CEST
